The wait is over: "Shape a New Start" is the second opus of Act Noir,
an electro-rock journey exploring human storylines where personal redemption, expiation of the past and
the struggle to make amends is concerned. A journey back to the roots, a tortuous path for shaping a new start.
Composed during 2008/2009, and released by
Eibon Records on January 2010, "Shape a New Start" is a step forward in the musical research of the band,
presenting a brand new sound where electro and rock perfectly melt together. The junction point between bands
such as Depeche Mode, Perfect Circle, Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails.
The album was recorded and mixed by Riccardo "Paso" Pasini at Studio73 and by Sergio Calzoni at ActNoir Mobile
Studio, while Alberto Cutolo and Mauro Berchi superbly mastered the record at Massive Arts in Milan.

Act Noir working on
second album and new singer announcement

Act Noir
are glad to announce that the new record
"Shape a New Start" is on the
making. At the moment the band is in the
process to finalize the mixing and
record the last guitar/vocal parts.
During the next weeks MP3 teasers of the
songs will be posted on-line, so stay
tuned for news on our
MySpace page and on
LastFm.
From beginning 2009 Act Noir are no
longer collaborating with singer Mark
Benoit. The decision was not an easy one
considering the friendly relationship
with Mark, but due to personal reasons
and different priorities the decision to
part ways came as the natural and proper
choice. The new singer
Gaetano Notarnicola joined the
band soon afterwards, impressing the
band for his outstanding vocal skills
and the vocal timbre perfectly matching
the Act Noir soundscapes. Surely the
fans are going to love his vocal
contributions on the new songs!

DIGITALE

Act Noir
are going to be hosted by the
web-program
Radio Effect Radio Space on
Friday the 27th of June at 21:00.
The program will feature a 45
minutes interview to the band, with the
possibility to have the audience asking
questions directly to Act Noir using the
chat-board on
www.radiodigitale.info At the
end of the interview several songs of
the debut CD
"Automatisme Psychique" will be
streamed on-line.
Act Noir
contributed to the upcoming
Francesco Arena's
installation "Respiri/Breath" with a
fifteen minutes soundtrack. The
project "Respiri/Breath" born from the
homonym video production started in 2004
by the contemporary artist Francesco
Arena (Genoa, Italy). The installation
features an international line-up,
mixing the bi-coloured visions of faces
breathing behind a glass with
electronic/experimental/ambient
soundscapes.

Vercelli

are pleased to announce their upcoming
show on November the 8th, at

Stefano playing with
FROZEN AUTUMN

The forthcoming
Frozen Autumn gig will feature
Stefano from Act Noir, playing the
electric-guitar on some old songs of the
Italian
cold-wave combo. The concert
will take place at club
Sottosopra on October, the 31st
(the Halloween night, of course...).
"Si Muove e Ride"
is the last effort of Gianni Pedretti's
music project
Colloquio, the album is released
worldwide by the brave Italian label
Eibon Records. The album
features the contribution of Sergio
Calzoni as sound-designer/producer
and
Stefano Nieri as additional
guitarist.
Act Noir will play at
club SLIMELIGHT in London, as
opening act for
CLAN OF XYMOX and
VIOLET STIGMATA on June, 23rd at
7:00 pm! We strongly recommend to buy

We are very happy to
announce that the italian shows of
JOHN FOXX will feature Act Noir
as opening act! For this amazing
occasion, Act Noir will prepare an
ad-hoc minimal/electro performance,

Act Noir LIVE @ M.E.I.

Act Noir will take part to
M.E.I. - Meeting of the
Independent Labels - national exhibition
of the italian independent music scene
located in Faenza (Ravenna), on November
the 25th / 26th. We are going to be
present at the stand of our record label
My Kingdom Music
during the whole weekend, inviting the
visitors to listen to the CDs produced
by our label, having a glass of wine
together and distributing gadgets!
Moreover, on Saturday the 25th at
11:30 am, Act Noir will play live (pavilion
M / stage A), presenting a showcase
in front of journalists and operators of
the music business.

Club/Palacavicchi in Pieve di Cento - Bologna.
The show will feature a unique acoustic
performance of the label mates
En Declin as opening act. Anybody into

Last but not least, it is with great
pleasure that Act Noir will introduce the new
frontman/singer Mark Benoit on this
occasion! Due to "geographical reasons", the
music collaboration with
Nicholas Hill became extremely difficult
to be managed: 1800 Km are quite an issue for an
underground band lacking of the essential
support from booking agencies and record labels,
in order to plan for tours and covering the
necessary travelling expenses when a member is
located in another country... Nicholas is
totally aware of the situation, and we can count
on his kind comprehension. Nevertheless, the
possibility of having him singing some backing
vocals or duet with Mark in our future releases
it is of course not excluded! Since the
first rehearsals with Mark we have been
enchanted by his singing skills and by his
timbre that perfectly fits the dark-mood
of Act Noir. We are sure everybody will enjoy
his precious vocal contributions to the Act Noir
cosmik soundscapes.
Neronoia recordings

Sergio Calzoni assisted the
recordings of the vocal tracks for the
Canaan's side project
Neronoia. The vocal parts have
been sung by
Gianni Pedretti -
Colloquio - and recorded at the
Act Noir mobile studio.
